Nicogenes (Japanese: 二コゲネス Greek: Νικογένης) is one of Tolmides' two friends, with whom Eumenes regularly hangs out during his childhood. He's the biggest of the boys, which is also shown in Chapter 9: Gymnastics Drill when he is the winner of all events but one. Even though Nicogenes appears for the first time in Chapter 6: The Library Room (2), it is only at the end of the first volume that his name is mentioned.
